Ha llovido mucho desde el lanzamiento del primer Resident Evil en 1996 y la franquicia ha reunido a miles de fans a lo largo de sus casi 30 años de historia. Por lo tanto, el próximo Resident Evil 9: Requiem se enfrenta a un gran desafío: presentar una experiencia disfrutable para todo tipo de jugadores, desde los fans de toda la vida y hasta los nuevos usuarios. Capcom es consciente de que el reto es mayúsculo y ha trabajado de forma minuciosa para lograr un equilibrio que guste a ambos grupos. De hecho, el equipo afirma que ha hecho un título tan bueno que los más veteranos lo disfrutarán al "150%".
El director Koshi Nakanishi y el productor Masato Kumazawa han concedido una entrevista a VGC en el marco del Tokyo Game Show 2025 para abordar temas como las características de Resident Evil 9: Requiem, las filtraciones que se están produciendo alrededor del proyecto y la experiencia de desarrollar para Nintendo Switch 2, entre otras cosas. Y es aquí donde los miembros de Capcom inciden en las dificultades a la hora de establecer un equilibrio óptimo en lo que respecta a contenidos para nuevos usuarios y detalles para los fans de siempre.
"Pensamos que es importante equilibrar la diversión extra que recibes de easter eggs nostálgicos, pistas y conexiones de lore si eres un fan de la saga, y no crear un juego que resulte ajeno para los jugadores que no están al día [con la franquicia]. No quiero que la gente se sienta como si tuviera que hacer deberes para apreciar este juego al completo", indica Kumazawa.
